If you happen to need bicycle parts, there aren’t many available so the best bet is to carry spare parts with you. Buses are available and bus stops can be seen clearly because they are marked by blue signs. The bus fare is reasonably priced. If you choose to rent a car or motorcycle, be sure to carry your license around with you as police checkpoints come up frequently. There may be some potholes but generally speaking, the roads are in good condition. Alternatively, there is a train system and it is somewhat of a novelty. Rail services connect the city of Pristina to Peja and to Skopje in neighboring North Macedonia. The most common mode of transportation for locals is the bus.
In Kosovo, Pristina, the capital city is beautiful and blends old history with modern culture. There are many cafes, great restaurants, eclectic shops, museums, and nightlife. In the west, there is Peja which is surrounded by high mountains. There you will also find the Rugova Canyon where there are plenty of outdoor activities. In the city of Vushtrri, take in historic sites like Vojinovic Tower, Vojinovic Bridge, and the Vushtrri Fortress. If you enjoy wine and raki, Rahovec is where you want to be. The raki is homemade and will knock your socks off. It is a big tourist attraction and keeps people coming back.
