The Off-peak season, generally during the first and last months of the year, are ideal times to visit as the weather is a pleasant 62 degrees Fahrenheit on average, and is also when most of the local events take place. Bakersfield is home to plenty of seasonal festivals throughout the year, which of course visitors welcome to take part. During the spring season, from mid-March to mid-June, the city is home to California's Scottish Games and Clan Gatherings, celebrating the local Scottish heritage. Getting around Bakersfield

Amtrak Railway Station can be found in the downtown and there are around 18 bus routes throughout the city operated by Golden Empire transit District.
