If the test is positive, they are subject to 10-day quarantine at a government-appointed facility, at their own expense. Travelers without a valid medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test results are subject to quarantine at a government-appointed facility, at their own expense.

Travelers transiting through South Africa must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure.
