When you fly into Durango, Colorado, you will be landing at the Durango–La Plata County Airport (DRO). DRO is situated in the southwestern corner of Colorado, conveniently located just 15 miles southeast of Durango. One advantage of flying into Durango Airport is its size: because it is small, it is easy to navigate. If you are traveling with a dog, you can take advantage of the grassy pet relief area just outside baggage claim. As the name suggests, the Durango–La Plata County Airport (DRO) is the gateway to La Plata and several cities within it. The city of Tiffany is approximately 20 miles southeast of Durango airport, about a 30-minute drive in clear weather.
