As the largest of the Canary Islands in Spain, Tenerife has two airports: Los Rodeos Airport (TFN) in the north and Reina Sofia Airport (TFS) in the south.

Los Rodeos Airport / Tenerife North Airport (TFN)

With one runway, TFN is the airport that connects flights with all of the Canary Islands. Distance to the city centre is 8 miles (13km) to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Buses: the bus service runs from Tenerife North Airport to the capital of Santa Cruz every 30 minutes throughout the day on route 102. The same service also runs to Puerto de la Cruz every 30 minutes during the day.

Getting between terminals: There is only one terminal at Tenerife North and it broadly serves domestic flights. You can catch a taxi to Tenerife South Airport for roughly €100 and the public bus for as little as €10. It is approximately €15 for a Bonovia (Bono) discount ticket.

Hints and tips 

The Bonovia is a discount ticket for use on the bus around Tenerife. You can also use it to access the airport in the south and can pay in cash on the bus when the credit runs out

How to get from Tenerife South Airport (TFS) to the city centre?

Reina Sofia (TFS) finds itself at the centre of tourism in Tenerife, situated in the south of the island. Distance to the city centre is 10.5 miles (17km) from Playa de la Americas

Buses: it’s possible to get from Tenerife South Airport to Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje for less than €4 on the 111 route. Taxis are more expensive, so the bus is the most straightforward option.

Getting between terminals: There is only one terminal for flights at Tenerife South Airport. You can connect to the airport in the north for approximately €100 by taxi or for around €10 by bus on the 343 route.
