Cost for one way rental is too expensive.

Do not rent from Hertz when traveling to Memphis. Not just my experience but others I spoke with. It took almost an hour in line to get to the counter (1 agent) and then you had to wait in a line of cars exiting that took another 30 minutes while the agent seemed to redo everything that you did at the counter, absent taking your credit card again. I also had to go through 3 cars before I left. After 30 minutes to exit the agent at the booth said the car wasn't assigned to me. Had to go back and get another one. After getting to the booth again this one couldn't be checked out because they said the oil needed changing. Finally left after 2+ hours at Hertz. No line at any of the other car agencies, avoid Hertz in Memphis.

Made a reservation for a car, got a confirmation. Then on the day I was supposed to pick it up, got a phone call from Enterprise that they didn't have any more cars. They offered to call me if any came in, but I cancelled the reservation. They should never have confirmed my reservation.

No worries about my conformation. Pickup was quick and easy.

A van that was not broke, wasting 3+ hours figuring out how to resolve it myself, and an unsympathetic branch that offered a measly 10% off the rental after having safety issues in a van with 3 adults and 4 children.

All good . No complaints.

I booked with another rental car company. I arrived at 9 PM to find 16 other customers waiting for cars that they had reservations for. I immediately booked a car with Alamo, picked it up and was on my way in about 15 minutes. Thank you so much for saving the day.

Age Restrictions

They did not have a car for me when I checked in. They told me to wait two hours and they would call me. They never called and they did not answer the phone when I called them. I called Kayak and not even Kayak could get a hold of them. Also the waiting area was just the dirty parking garage wall.

They had no cars available even though I made my reservation over a month ago. They said anywhere from 2-8 hours and there were already 6 people ahead of me waiting. I canceled and went with enterprise.

It was terrible. Waited over an hour and still no car. Even trying to cancel my reservation after waiting to over 26 min on the phone. I will never use them nor Thrifty ever again.

I have been trying to rent a car with Avis for over a month. They wait until I get a ride two hours away and then call me at the last minute, or not at all, and tell me that they do not have any available cars. This has happened to me 11 times now. Due to this, I received a coupon from Customer Service for 4 Days Free Rental and the Store Manager at the Collierville location lied to me about having cars, and the total that she was running my card for. Then told me she could not rent to me because my credit card declined, even though I called my Credit Card company and cleared up the issue. She said that it was company policy that they were not allowed to run a card twice; which is a lie. They ran another customer's card 5 times while I was standing there. She also called another location, trying to pass me off to them, and told the manager there that she could not run my card again because it would mess up my coupon, not because it was company policy that they could not run the card twice. She knew this was a lie. All of this was heard by my credit card company on a recorded line.

The in person service was great, but the phone service trying to get the car was awful. Ended up having to spend an additional day in town because of it. The place I was the originally pick up the car was CLOSED. Always closed on Sundays! When I called I was sent to a second location, and they were out of cars! Said that all the places in the area (at 11am) were out of cars. Even though I had reserved one. Finally got a car the next day from a very nice woman at the original location I was supposed to pick up from. Car was fine, but very dirty and trashed on the inside. Wouldn’t book again.

I never got the car, because when I arrived in Memphis I was informed they were sold out. ridiculous.

They tried to charge me 3 x the amount that I was quoted for, for 1 day. Won’t use again.

It took a hour and a 10 min to do the check out and pick up the car. They had 1 person working the counter and over 20 people in line. Changed the rate on me approx 20 higher at the counter. After check out went to get the car and had to wait 20 min for them to clean it. Then went to leave and no none was at the check out area and had to wait another 10 min. The process of picking up the car was longer than my flight from Virginia to Tenesee. Terrible experience with budget. Staff was friendly but grossly under staffed.

Online experience sucked from beginning to end

Website allowed out of towners, who were stranded due to personal car issues to book a same day reservation for in town pick up with out of town drop off and once at the pick up location was told can’t do same day one ways. If it’s policy the website should know that to! Never using this company again, but I’m sure they don’t care considering they’re already rich. Disrespectfully a customer you’ll never get rich off. This caused use a lot of stress and inconvenience!!! Never referring this rental company to anyone.

My flight was delayed and I couldn't pick up my rental car because Thrifty had closed and I had to rent from Enterprise
