Montenegro’s climate follows two distinct patterns; the coastal areas have a typical Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters, while the interior is characterised by warm summers with very cold winters. Getting from the Airport to the City

Podgorica Airport (TDG) is located about 7.5 miles (12 km) south of the city and is used as a base by the national carrier Montenegro Airlines. Tourists have a number of options for reaching the city centre once their flight to Podgorica touches down. While buses operate to and from the city, they are not available at all times and the departures can be irregular. The most reliable option for reaching the city is to avail of one of the many taxis waiting outside the main terminal building. There is a reasonable flat rate for every journey to the city centre but this should be confirmed with the taxi driver prior to travel.
