One of Indonesia’s largest cities, Medan is a thriving hub for food, drink, and unique museums. Tjong A Fie’s Mansion, for example, is a small but fascinating museum exhibition housed within a historic Chinese style mansion. This mansion will enable you to step back a century into the past. Visit the Marian Shrine of Annai Velangkanni in the downtown area to see one of the true architectural gems of Medan. The majestic blue and white Medan Grand Mosque is another real architectural treasure of the city. If adventure and excitement are what you are looking for, then make sure to pay a visit to the Hillpark Sibolangit, a large amusement park. The Gedung Arca is one of the most interesting exhibition centers in Indonesia, and is a great place to learn about the history and culture of this part of the country.
