The historical city centre is surrounded by affluent neighbourhoods, rolling tree-filled hills, and long stretches of white sandy beaches and blue waters. Restaurants, shops, and family owned boutiques are packed into the city centre, much of which will appeal to almost any visitor. Throughout Vitoria there are many historical buildings and museums, such as Palacio Anchieta, Carlos Gomes Theatre, and Metropolitana Cathedral. An airport provided taxi service travels directly to the city for a fixed price, however airport shuttles also operate a regular service and are much cheaper. Many companies have kiosks throughout the terminal which offer car rentals.
