Yes, there are currently restrictions on flights to La Rochelle along with the rest of France. Before you book or search for flights, consider the following restrictions: France has restricted the entry of all travelers arriving from states outside the wider European area (EU, UK, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland) Nationals of France and their spouses and children, long-term residents with French residence permits and their spouses and children, long-term residents of EEA Member States, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the Vatican City and their spouses and children on their way home, and healthcare professionals may still enter the country. Airline crew, personnel of diplomatic and consular missions and international organizations with offices in France and their spouses and children, and merchant seamen may also still enter. Travelers arriving from outside of the countries listed above must have an International Travel Certificate to enter and transit France, which must be obtained prior to departure via the French consular offices abroad or online at https://www.interieur.gouv.fr. Travelers arriving from the UK or from a country that is not an EU member, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland are requested to comply with a voluntary 14-day self-quarantine upon arrival. Those arriving from within the European area except the UK are exempt from this regulation. Travelers arriving in overseas French territories, as well as any travelers showing symptoms of COVID-19, will have to carry out a mandatory 14-day quarantine at home or in a facility chosen by the government. Mask wearing is obligatory for all travelers above the age of 11. France is expecting to open its borders to travelers from French Overseas Territories starting on June 27, but travelers from other areas outside the EU will continue to be restricted until at least July 1. There are special regulations for travelers transiting through France to return to their country of residence. Only direct transit to reach your country of residence is permitted. Transiting travelers may not leave the international zone and will not be admitted to France. Luggage must be checked through to the final destination, and travelers will not be permitted to leave the international zone to collect and recheck baggage. The duration of transit must be less than 24 hours.. Best Time to Fly to La Rochelle

La Rochelle is warm and sunny in the summer with mild weather in winters. Due to the Gulf Stream, temperatures are much warmer than they would generally be at this latitude. Rain falls throughout the year but average at about 700 mm each year. Most rain falls during late autumn and early winter. Summers are nice and warm and run from June through to September, with July and August being the hottest months in the city. The average temperature at this time is 68 degrees Fahrenheit . The winter months are the off-peak season in the region, with the summer months of July to August being the busiest time of the year.
