Before you book or search for flights, consider the following restrictions: The Government of Cayman Islands has announced that all airports in the Cayman Islands w ill remain closed to international leisure and non-essential travel until at least September 1. Individuals wanting to submit a request for essential travel may do so on the Cayman Islands TravelTime website. All travelers entering the Cayman Islands are subject to mandatory quarantine for a period of 14 days in a government facility. The government has arranged hotel accommodations for returning residents and students in order for them to isolate away from home. Work Permit Holders must use the mandatory isolation facilities at their own cost. Caymanians and Residents will be provided this without cost. George Town is a popular spot and peak season runs from December to mid-April. Weather is pleasant and dry but due to demand prices are highest during this time. Mid-April through to the end of November is considered off season and prices can be considerably lower when it comes to booking a room. In addition, there will be far fewer crowds. George Town overview

Clean and compact George Town is the capital of the Cayman Islands located on Grand Cayman, the largest of the three island groups. Getting around George Town

George Town is compact and easy to navigate and the best and easiest way to get around is on foot. Or if you prefer two wheels take a bike. Many hotels rent them to guests as a way to explore. Taxis are an option if you need or want to explore other areas and since they are government regulated they should all have rate sheets. George Town also has a bus system that serves several routes around Grand Cayman can also get you to other areas.

Getting from the Airport to the City

The easiest way to get into George Town from the airport (GCM) is by taxi. Taxis are available at the arrival area on a dispatch basis, which is first come-first served. There are no rental car agencies in the airport, but anyone wanting to rent a car just needs to walk across the street from the airport to find several agencies.
