Can I fly to Baku right now?

There are currently restrictions on flights to Baku along with the rest of Azerbaijan. Before you book or search for flights, consider the following restrictions: Entry restrictions

Azerbaijan has extended the suspension of all commercial flights, except for special, private, and charter flights. Issuance of e-visas and visa on arrival has been suspended.

Entry requirements

All travelers arriving in Azerbaijan must present a negative COVID-19 test. The test itself can be taken more than 48 hours before your flight but the certificate showing the negative test result will only be accepted if issued within 48 hours before the flight. Travelers will be tested again for COVID-19 and have their temperature checked on arrival into Azerbaijan. Individuals are responsible for the entire cost of COVID-19 tests carried out at the airport. As of March 1, all negative COVID-19 test certificates required for arrival in Azerbaijan must include a QR code, which when scanned must provide details from the clinic about the test results.

Quarantine requirements

All arrivals to Azerbaijan are required to complete a 14-day self-isolation in their own accommodation, regardless of travel origin. They have an option to take a COVID-19 test on day 6 and if the result is negative, the self-isolation period will end. They must arrange for the test with a private provider, at their own expense. A list of approved test providers can be found on the AZAL website. Foreign citizens who do not provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate on arrival may be refused entry to Azerbaijan and returned to their country of origin at their own expense – alternatively they may be required to enter state quarantine facilities.

All other info

The use of a medical mask will be required at all times at the airport and on the flight. It is mandatory to keep the mask on at all times except for specific requirements; for example, at border control, at the request of an airport official, or while eating. Hand luggage will not be allowed on flights coming to Azerbaijan apart from smaller personal items such as a handbag or brief case. Check with your airline for the latest hand-luggage allowances and rules introduced to combat COVID-19 onboard your flight.
