Everything went very smoothly. It would be great if Detroit airport had a covered area for the cars. It was raining and I had to run to my car which is kind of a drag when you have luggage, etc.

The line to pickup a car took over one hour. The staff were rude and dismissive to those in line, as well as to questions from guests. Not a great experience in any way.

Horrible experience. They gave car with no battery & no curiosity to even serve us first as we return back due to bad car issuance. I dont recommend to any one for this kind of poor customer service & they gave a remote that has no buttons( Mazda SUV). Plus car has all kind of indicators & we are not sure if that car will complete the trip.

When I got there, there was line and no one behind the counter. That was because there was only one person working and she had to go out to have the vehicle for each customer brought up to be cleaned and handed over. My rental was for 3pm, I didn't get out of there until 4pm. She was nice an courteous. The vehicle was great. But in a day that had already gone wrong, that extra delay was not helpful!

Representative chose a different vehicle (GMC) for us when a RAV4 was reserved and available. In her defense, there was minor damage to the back bumper of the RAV4, so she thought we wouldn’t want it. We would rather have been asked instead of the assumption. When asked about the RAV4, she quickly and politely switched us to that vehicle. Minor inconvenience.

Bus took over an hour to pick up at the shuttle area. There were too many people waiting by the time the bus showed up and had to wait on another bus even though we were the third group waiting originally luckily the next bus came within 15 minutes. Then had to wait almost 2 hours in line at the pick up location just to get the pick up process started. Not a single employee moved with any sense of urgency. Will be giving my business to anybody else except budget or Avis since they are part of the same group.

Not great, took over two hour to get checked in and to get the car picked up. Equipment not working properly and they didn’t have enough staff working to handle the number of people needing assistance.

Terrible. Me quisieron hacer un cargo de 200 dolares extras los cuales en ningún momento se mencionaron. Con lo cual no pude realizar la renta pues se excedía el límite de mi tarjeta de crédito. La persona que me atendió no supo ayudarme. Y no ofreció ninguna solución.

Had to change out a flat and the spare was in good condition. More importantly, it was so easy to get a hold of a real human being on the phone to explain my situation and tell me where to go to exchange for another car.

The premium suv I reserved wasn’t so premium. A ton of air sound would come in from the windshield once I hit 45mph as if the weather strip was not properly replaced. The breaks were also very bad the vehicle should have been serviced before being rented out.

Van was brought up, left for 6 miles, then low tire light came on, went back, swapped stuff to another van. Sienna was learning curve. Had an emergency, at home. returned car to DTW lot used 6 of the 9 days. Got no receipt from accepting agent. Got home to my wife in hospital and found a receipt from Thrifty charging $198 for AP conc fee which I told them was already in the previous contract. Called 3 times, Thrifty refused to reverse. Even when i said they had 3 days rental revenue to use the van. Didn't want credit for the days, just not to pay twice for airport fee.

The Rav4 was having computer issues and kept hanging up on people that I called and not being able to use the navigation. Was very scary considering how much we rely on computer systems in our cars now and was driving during a snow storm.

The rental car itself was ok.

Kayak booked my reservation 30 minutes away from the airport. When this was determined by the staff at Hertz Detroit airport, they were unwilling to help arrive at a solution. I had to leave the Hertz area and book through Thrifty/Dollar in order to obtain a rental car. Additionally, the area where I needed to work with the Hertz Detroit airport representative was in a closed in space, making me less comfortable during COVID.

Car was excellent -- clean and ready to go. Unnecessary stress at initial check-out, but returning the car was quick and easy.

Initial check-out was bad. Credit card reader didn't work, and rather than try another one (that particular card reader wasn't working), I was told to call the third party I had pre-paid for the rental (Kayak) and tell them I'd have to use a different card. Finally, I went to a different clerk further down the counter who simply ran my card on her card reader and it was fine. The whole encounter added another 15 minutes of unnecessary stress. I had also noticed the customer in front of me having a similar problem with the same clerk.

I was expecting a Corolla and was disappointed when it wasn't available. The rental agent thought I might like a Chevy Cruise and she was right! It was very comfortable and performed well around town and on the highways.
