Las Vegas is a year-round destination and travelers can always find airfare deals on Las Vegas flights. However, there are particular times of the year when Las Vegas is at its peak and when travelers can find best the Las Vegas flight and hotel deals.
Peak Season:
Practically all year is the peak season for Las Vegas. The summer months might be the best time to find the cheapest flights to Las Vegas, but the weather can reach extreme temperatures due to the desert location. All hotels and casino’s do have air conditioning though so you’ll feel comfortable until you go outside. Autumn and winter are generally good times of the year to get your flights to Las Vegas as the weather conditions are cooler. Las Vegas is also a big business conference and expo site. When finding your flights to Las Vegas, try to see if there are any big business conferences going on as this can affect the price of the flights. New Year’s is hugely celebrated, as is July 4th and the Labor Day weekend, so don’t expect to find cheap flights to Las Vegas then. Spring Break also increases the costs of the flight tickets so make sure to plan carefully.
Off Season:
Summer in the desert is hot and the Las Vegas Strip is no exception. Thankfully, the hotels and casinos are air-conditioned so Las Vegas tourists can seek relief from the desert heat. If you plan to travel to Las Vegas in the summertime, bring light clothes and plenty of sunscreen. It’s hot and humid, but summer is also a good time to find tickets to Las Vegas and discounted Las Vegas hotel and resort rates.

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Las Vegas, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, July is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 93.2 F. Travelers looking to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 48.2 F).
You can normally find the cheapest flights to Las Vegas in November, although generally the prices are very similar every month apart from May, June, July and August, which is the most expensive time to book your flights to Las Vegas. No matter when you’re planning on traveling, booking your flights at least three or four months in advance, or a lot longer beforehand if you can, will offer you the best prices on your flight tickets. If you can, try to sit on the left side of the plane so you can get the magnificent views of the Grand Canyon towards the end of your flight.

Blackjack tables, showgirls, neon lights and Elvis imitators – you can find it all when you book a flight to Las Vegas. Back in the day, Las Vegas served as the playground to everyone from Marilyn Monroe to the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. It’s where Elvis Presley first sang Viva Las Vegas in 1969, and where couples in love eloped and pressed their luck at the blackjack tables. Book an airline ticket to Las Vegas to see it all.
Vegas vacations start on the ride to Las Vegas. Upon booking Las Vegas flights, the odds are already in favor of having a good time. The plane lands at McCarran International Airport (LAS), where visitors are greeted by bright lights and the loud change-making noise of the slot machines – an inviting entrance into Sin City.
But when you step off your plane, you’ll see more than just gaming. The city boasts more churches per capita than any other city in America, which is no surprise since many Las Vegas flights are booked with the idea of matrimony in mind. Cheap plane tickets to Las Vegas can be found year-round, leaving tourists plenty of money to spend on hotels and entertainment in the city. And boy, are there a lot of hotels in Las Vegas. On the Las Vegas Strip, the most popular hotels include the Mirage, the Venetian, the Bellagio, the Hard Rock, Caesars Palace, the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay, to name but a few. Budget-conscience travelers can find flights to Las Vegas and cheap hotels off the Strip, leaving a little extra room in the checkbook for loving the Las Vegas scene.
While the days of Elvis and Frank have ended, the Las Vegas legacy lives on. Today, Las Vegas flights open the gates to Broadway shows and Grammy-award winning entertainers. Luxury retail stores open daily along the Las Vegas Strip, and adults craving a lifestyle of decadence indulge in five-star restaurants and midnight buffets on the casino floor. Las Vegas has, and always will be, the heartbeat of the desert.
What happens here stays here, so once you board your return Las Vegas flight, you’re off the hook. Vegas is hopping 52 weeks a year, but certain Las Vegas events bring out the VIPs in full force. Jet-setters book Las Vegas flights to celebrate in style during holiday weekends, especially New Year’s Eve. Gamblers and sports fans find cheap Las Vegas airfare for the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby and March Madness. Keep your eyes out during spring and summer weekends, when Las Vegas tickets are filled with bachelor and bachelorette parties starting their celebrations even before the plane touches down.
A world-class city, Las Vegas is the only place on earth where you can view a dazzling light show that takes in an entire street, take a ride in a gondola or see a volcano erupt, all in the same day. It’s also the place to see an Eiffel Tower and Sphinx without hopping on a plane. Beyond the glitz and the neon lights, there is plenty of nature to explore. There’s the Lake Mead Recreation Area, the Hoover Dam, and even the Grand Canyon is accessible via a fairly short helicopter ride. Whatever it is that brings you to the Sin City, we have some tips to help you plan and enjoy the smoothest possible trip.
When you arrive at McCarran International Airport, you’ll think the strip is so close you could walk there. This isn’t recommended and you’ll soon learn everything in Vegas seems quite close. The easiest and quickest option is to get a taxi straight from the airport – it shouldn’t take longer than thrity minutes – maybe less depending on where your hotel is and what the traffic is like.
You can also arrange for a limo to collect you if you want to ride in style, or at the other end of the spectrum you can take the shuttle bus. This might be the cheapest option but it makes many stops, so if you’d rather just get to your hotel and relax, take a taxi. You can also take a bus straight to the strip or rent a car, however unless you are planning to explore the outer areas of Las Vegas, a car could be more of a hindrance to your trip.
Once you’ve settled into your hotel and are ready to explore, it’s easiest to get around Vegas from the 4-mile-long Las Vegas Strip. Walking is a great way to get around Vegas, but it may not be the fastest. A monorail will take you from one end of the Vegas Strip to the other, and it runs all week long. Las Vegas’ public bus system also has buses running all day and night, and there are also trolleys you can take to get around too. Of course, you can always catch a taxi in front of any major hotel.
If you’re looking to leave Las Vegas for a trip across the country or the world, Cheapflights can help you find flights to almost anywhere. Most major airline carriers have flights heading in and out of McCarran International Airport (LAS), as do smaller options such as Virgin America, Alaska Airlines and Sun Country Airlines.
Here are some of the most popular routes from Las Vegas, where you will find some great flight deals:
Cheap flights from Las Vegas to New York City
Cheap flights from Las Vegas to Hawaii
Cheap flights from Las Vegas to Los Angeles
Arrive to the airport early when you fly out of McCarron Airport (LAS) and be sure to know your terminal number before you go. Many hotels offer shuttle transfers to the airport, but you can also take the public bus, a taxi, or book a private transfer. If your plan is to drive to the airport, there is a park and ride available, but keep in mind it can take thirty minutes or more to reach your terminal through the shuttle service.

Located five miles (8km) south of Las Vegas’s central business district, McCarran International Airport (LAS) is the largest airport serving the notorious Sin City, handling a whopping 40 million passengers each year.
Flights to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport come from all over the world. However, the most popular routes are short domestic flights from US cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago and Salt Lake City.
The facilities at McCarran are good, and staff members are friendly and efficient. The newer – and smaller – Terminal 2 has less to occupy your time and fewer places to sit, which can get annoying at peak times. Other than that there are few complaints to be made about the airport, so relax and try your luck at the slots while you wait for your flight.
