|Jun 2025Horrible company. I showed up and they told me they only had 4 cars left which were considerably smaller than the one i booked so we ended up having to cancel the confirmation and quickly go to the airport and rent a car with a different company.

|May 2023Had to call twice to get them to answer the phone when I arrived. They said they'd send the shuttle and I'd see it in 10-15 minutes. Waited over 20 minutes, and no one arrived. I tried to call again, and no one answered. Gave them until I downloaded and checked Uber & Lyft to come. They never showed up and I ended up using Lyft to take me to the office and using ride share during my trip.

|May 2023good on gas. sticker on windshield blocked some of the driver's view, empty cans in backseat, they demanded proof of my own personal car insurance or buy insurance from them and also demanded to see proof of my flight out BEFORE i could take the car. Nothing about this was on their website. upon return, we called as per instructions but no one picked up for 45 minutes. finally called corporate office and they told me to wait until the shuttle swings by, which it did. I called the rental office once more and FINALLY someone picked up but shuttle took 30 minutes for a 10 minute ride to the airport. At the drop off site, 12 other people were waiting for a ride to their flights. Five of them were in danger of missing their flights and took an uber. Badly run business, intrusive rental criteria, sloppy maintenance to the point of being dangerous (windshield obstruction). We can't recommend using this car rental company to anyone else for any reason, as their service is sub-par across the board.

|Nov 2022Willie helped me so much! I booked a car for the wrong day. Totally my fault but he was able to accommodate me anyway. So grateful! They are my new go to when visiting Charlotte.

|Mar 2023Avis policy prohibits the rental of a car without a return flight or major credit card. That was not disclosed at the time of reservation. The bigger issue was that the agent lied and said no rental car company in the airport would rent with one of those two things. Untrue! Dollar and Hertz both rented to the people the Avis agent turned away.

|May 2026Car wiz was a horrible experience. There are no in person agents, which could be nice; however, it’s an ordeal getting them on the electronic system. Also, they need the COI not the actual insurance card, like every other rental car company. It’s hard to get a COI from. Coming after hours….. the only option you have is to purchase their insurance. Lastly, drop off was a nightmare. It was 4pm on a Sunday, which was scheduled drop off time. They didn’t provide an airport shuttle-told me we had to get an uber to the airport. Will never use this service again. Kayak please take them off as an option. Deplorable

|Jun 2024Quite literally the worst experience with a car rental company I have ever had. Whatever you do, regardless of what supposed “deals” they are claiming to give you, steer clear of this company! CarWiz/NU car rentals are a joke. No customer service. They aren’t upfront about added costs and insurance additions, and then gouge you once you’re there to actually pick up the vehicle and don’t have options to change your reservation without a penalty. I would be more likely to sell my first born child off than to ever utilize this company again.

|May 2024!!!!!!!!!DO NOT BOOK WITH NU CAR RENTALS!!!!!!!. I’m not one to write reviews but felt so passionately about warning other customers NOT to use them. Horrible, sketchy experience. Up charged me for insurance saying my insurance was “out of their network” which makes no sense if my insurance covers damages. No humans on site, you have to zoom with a customer service rep. When I dropped off, they tried to charge me for pre-existing damage to the car and thankfully had pictures prior to when I drove off the lot. Just some of the things… I don’t want to waste another breath on this place. It’s sketchy. Cannot recommend a different car rental place enough. This place needs to be shut down.
