Just before boarding our flight from Istanbul to Washington, DC, ALL passengers were divided into male and female lines (which is both sexist and not trans-inclusive) and each of us had to have all of our carry-on luggage (suitcases and backpacks) opened and rifled-through by security guards from a random security company. No reason was given for this and we had all already been through 3 security screening checkpoints, all of which included luggage scans. This was a huge invasion of our privacy. I’ve never felt more violated at an airport, and I’m from the USA where we have the TSA! I’ll never fly Turkish Airlines ever again.
