It would help if they got email addresses correct - even after telling them. I live in the heart of England. I have never hired a car from Hertz in the USA. I received several emails giving me instructions about picking up my hire car (including some personal details of the hirer). On each occasion, I attempted to correct the company. And now, they want me to post a review of my experience! Unbelievable. What concerns me most is not my receiving these emails but realising that their genuine customer never received anything at all about his/her transaction. I hope they got their car OK. I'll bet that now I have posted this review someone will contact me. :-) Too late! But we shall see. It's so simple to use what is called "double opt-in". Ie, check the email address is the right one before posting sensitive information to it. Bad ITC Hertz! Stephen Bell (Retired marketer.)

car was good and the type we had requested shuttle bus was no where near the every 5 minutes or so and was quite packed (not covid friendly) staff at hertz/budget was overwhelmed - too many customers, too few knowledgeable staff when returning car I asked about payment for 'toll by plate' - probably about $5 worth that I hadn't anticipated (no cash lanes) the clerk who was there at returns said he could take care of it right there.... and rang up a charge of $73 or so! - to cover 'all tolls for a week' - we said no thanks !- he said a bill would be mailed - why not just withhold what we owe from the $200 credit card deposit taken at the time of pick up? why should anyone try to sell an old couple a $70+ for a week of tolls - I mentioned it was a small amount- and perhaps a little convenience

We made a reservation months ago, but when we went to pick up the car, they told us there was a 1-2 hour wait until they’d have a car ready for us. We had been lucky to have on-time flights, but then ended up with a two-hour “delay” because of the car rental! :( Staff was friendly, car was good, and drop-off experience was quick and easy, so it wasn’t ALL bad, but not a great start! The rep at pick-up also tried to upswell big time with the $75 gas tank and told us we may not be able to get gas near by because places have been running out lately (spoiler alert: we filled up around the corner without a problem). Her explanation of the insurance coverage was confusing too.

I made a reservation in October of 2022. When I got to the Dollar Car Rental location they had my reservation but no available car. I was told to go sit on the bench outside with the other people who were also waiting for cars. No one came out to speak with any of us. After 2 hours I went back in asking for an update. This was easily the worst car rental experience of my life. Our flight was delayed and before we left I had called Dollar to make sure the rental center would be open. I was told by the agent that they were open 24 hrs. We arrived at West Palm Beach airport just after 1am and when we got to the counter there was a sign that said "temporarily closed" and to take the shuttle to the pick up location. No shuttle came so we took a taxi. We got there and was told by security that they were closed and to come back in the morning. So we had to take a 40 minute, hundred dollar plus Uber to our place and then had to come back the next day. I called and spoke to an agent to make sure my car was ready and she told me that they hold the reservation for 48 hours. So I had to come back 40 minutes to airport to pick up. When I got to the counter, I was told no car was avaiable and it would be two hours. I asked how this was possible when I was supposed to have a car the day before and it was prepaid. Anyways, it was well over three hours before I got my car. There were numerous other customers in the same predicament. I was quite upset at losing a half day of vacation and two expensive trips back and forth. The people working at the counters couldn't have cared less. Overall, just a poor experience.

We had to wait over an hour for our car to be ready. Our flight was an hour delayed already and then to have to wait for an extra hour for a car that reserved for 2 hours prior is very disappointing. They washed it and gave it to us dripping wet so once the drops dry we weren’t able to see out of the windows well and had to wash them ourselves. The pick up process was very disappointing.

After waiting in line for over an hour to get an agent, we were told to go outside and our car would be ready in 15-20 minutes. How would we get our car? We were supposed to look for the model and color of the car and it would have its flashers on. Well there were several other people waiting. We finally saw what we thought was our car and no one else was claiming it so we decided to take it. At that point, we saw the agent who helped us (apparently they were extremely short on help and the agents were doing everything including bringing cars out to the customers). We showed the agent our receipt and pointed to the car and he said that was our car. Our receipt did not have a clearly defined license number so we couldn’t confirm. When we got inside, we realized that the car’s mileage did not match our receipt. We had already loaded the car and were exhausted at that point after traveling all day and then waiting for a car. But I thought we should double check because it just didn’t seem right. My husband went back inside and asked the agent a second time if that was our car and he said yes. When we get to the exit gate, our paperwork did not match the car we were in and had to go back to the lot. As it turned out, we ordered a full size car and the one we had was an intermediate. But, it only had 8k mileage whereas the full size car we were supposed to get had 43k. My husband went back inside and asked if we could jut keep the car we had. They changed the paperwork and off we went. Our flight landed at 4:30 and we were leaving with our car at 7:45 so it was now dark. After we got on 95, I noticed what looked like a small hole/crack in the windshield. At that point we were not going back again. We called Budget the next morning to report the damaged windshield and also that we paid for a full size and got an intermediate due to the debacle at the agency. They gave us a $100 credit. But we ended up driving a smaller car than we wanted for two weeks not to mention the frustration with the whole process.

I waited in line for 1.5 hours to get my car. The agent handed me an envelope with no contact in it. I got to the gate and had to go back. He said he emailed it, which I never got. He did not tell me he was emailing something I need to get off the lot. Even if I had gotten it, what was I supposed to do—boot up my laptop at the gate and hand it to the booth? I will NEVER rent from Payless or Budget at this location again.

The agent who served us was wonderful. He was friendly, polite, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He was the only agent on duty, had a line forming, and took the time to greet each person and say that he would be with them shortly. Excellent customer service. The interior could have been a little cleaner and the interior windshield had spray stains on it that impacted our vision at night. All in all, great experience.

The staff was absolutely amazing!! They woman at the front seriously helped me and walked me through everything I needed to know, and informed me of each added on expense so there were no suprises. She had empathy like no other and really made sure i was taken care of. The young man whom I returned the car to was very nice and made sure I a ride home before returning the vehicle. Honestly the best staff you'll ever meet!

Ace may have a lot of loop holes when it come to added om expenses, which is probably expected from renting, I had placed too much faith in a reliable range of reasonable additives, but it was a little crazy in that regard. The price you pay on kayak should be the only expense.

Ali, the gentleman who took us to our rental was very sweet. He struck up a conversation as we walked through the lot and was very helpful! He was also super cute an I wish I gave him my number ;)

The desk girl tried checking me into the wrong reservation an then needed to get assistance from someone else instead of just asking for my reservation paperwork.

It was very easy on both ends to pick up (Ft Meyers) and drop off (W Palm Beach). No hassles on either end! The car was big enough for 4 adults plus a child in a car seat and all our luggage, gear and groceries (Nissan Altima).

The upholstery in the car was pretty stained and the console could have been cleaner. It was clear that this car had been used quite a bit. But that took a little pressure off trying to keep it pristine over the week we had it. It wasn't gross just time for a little detailing.

It was very easy to pick up in Ft. Meyers and drop off in West Palm Beach! I thought this might be a hassle or expensive but it was easy and reasonably priced. The car (Hyundai Sonata) got great gas mileage and was plenty big enough for 4 adults and a child in a car seat plus luggage.

My only negative comment is that the car could have been cleaner. The upholstery was clean but the seats had obvious signs of use.

Consistent with other thank cars the insides of the windows are very dirty. Windshield is especially dirty and streaked making it hard to see clearly at night. I shouldn't have to clean the windows. The white interior was stained - looks like tanning products making yellow / orange blotches. The cup holders were dirty and it looked like ashes in the bottom. Service at pick up was excellent, drop off was unmanned and not known in advance.
