The young man who checked out our car was very nice. He upgraded us to a larger SUV which was very helpful. We had to return our car very early to catch our flight. I expected an email confirming our return but never received one. I finally called a week later and was told it was because of short staffing. Overall it was a very good experience.

We didn't know this Avis office was located a long ways from the Albuquerque airport. We assumed it was located at the Avis rental car location where a shuttle takes you to the various agencies. WRONG!! We went to the Avis counter and found out this rental car location was located 20 miles away. By this time when we called the Avis location on 9501 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, it was after 12 pm and the manager said the office closed at noon! WTF, my reservation was for noon and that is when they close!! I admit it was after 12 pm, but the manager said they would not stay open even if I left right away by taxi. They opened the next day at 8 am, but we couldn't wait until the next day so we cancelled. We never got any information for this Avis rental location that it was located a long ways from the airport and that we had to hire a taxi to get there and by the way, you had to be there by noon or they close shop for the day. They close at noon on Saturday and Sunday. They need to give the prospective renter this information. We would never have reserved with this remotely located location if we had this information. How is someone going to Albuquerque for the first time supposed to know all these pitfalls? Avis corporate needs to demand this small Avis dealer to shape up or lose their affiliation.

The office being outside of the airport reduced the cost, and the cab fare was not too expensive to get there. Pick up and drop off were both extremely easy! The car could have been washed better. We had to get some windex wipes to clean the inside of the windshield since it was very smeared and the outside mirrors were also needing to be cleaned to be able to use them.

Reservation was made and allowed to be made when the biz was closed.

The reps at Budget were very helpful to adjust our pickup and return. It made for a great trip!

The man at the desk was so helpful especially when I realized I booked at the wrong Budget---he was so helpful! British or Australian accent.

Pick up location had very friendly and helpful manager as well as employee. They both were friendly, honest and helpful.

I searched to pickup with ABQ airport. Apparently, the site placed me somewhere else. The airport location found my reservation at a different location and said it was already canceled. So they could help me, but not at the rate I reserved. I had to pay an additional $40 per day or about $200 total. So Kayak or priceline did not help me at all.

They would not call me back to confirm my reservation. I had called over a 2 day period; the day before my rental and the day of my rental. Another Hertz associate took my 3pm call to let me know they didn't have any availability and the associate I had been speaking with would be back in 10 minutes. She at least tried to help but the vehicle she found was not big enough. Luckily, Budget had a van I could rent and pick up at 4pm. I've been a loyal Hertz customer for years but this experience has ended Hertz receiving my hard earned money.
