Summer in Riga brings heat and humidity without reserve. With temperatures resting in the 70’s most of the season, sunny days are supplemented almost constantly by rainy ones. Cold temperatures move in during the winter months of December – February, but this is also the driest time of year, so rain and snow are much less common. Riga offers many different ways to get around the city. The public transportation system is easy to figure out with plenty of bus lines and trolley routes. They run from 5:30am to 12:30am. Each mode of transport has its own ticketing system. You can buy a ticket onboard or at a newsstand. Catch a taxi outside almost any train station, hotel or airport or hail one on the street.
