Together with its neighbor, Magaluf, the resort of Palma Nova on the south west coast of Majorca makes up the most popular holiday area on the island, situated a few miles west of the capital, Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International Airport. Palma Nova is known as the quieter section of this hedonistic seaside development, more suited to families.

• See sharks, dolphin shows and crocodile ponds at Marineland which is where Palma Nova and Magaluf merge into one another  – often  known as Meganova. 
• To prevent the excesses of tourism the area has pulled down the worst hotels. Other activities have been introduced such as guided walks and – great idea – wheelchairs that go in the water so that disabled people can enjoy being in the warm sea.
