Mozambique flights arrive on the southeastern coast of Africa and near by Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. Made up of mainly coastal lowlands, travelers book flights to Mozambique for a tour of the island’s breathtaking landscape.

Flights to Mozambique land travelers in Bazaruto – a tropical paradise of four islands featuring everything from fishing to snorkeling. Perhaps one of the most talked about islands in the African Coast is Mozambique’s Inhaca Island. For a glimpse of game up close, travel to the country’s wildlife reserves and national parks in search of elephant, buffalo and antelope. Fishing enthusiasts book flights to Mozambique for extreme fishing conditions around Guinjata Bay and the Mozambique Channel.

Once an island of turmoil and despair, Mozambique is rebuilding its past and quickly becoming one of the most traveled to tourist destinations in Africa. Travelers booking Mozambique flights and accommodations are urged to use caution and common sense when walking through the city and on beaches. Keep personal items close and people in sight, but don’t let the typical tourist alerts distract you from the beauty of this African country.

Mozambique Insider Information

  • Most international Mozambique flights touch down in Maputo, the bustling, waterside capital city of sidewalk cafes and tree-lined avenues. Maputo’s history as a former colonial city is ever present in the European architecture that lines its streets: The Central Railway Station of Maputo, for one, was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the mastermind responsible for Paris’ most notable landmark. Shopaholics will revel in the opportunity to spend a few hours browsing through the Central Market of Maputo, which showcases colorful displays of everything from woodcarvings to the freshest fruits and vegetables.
  • The Quirimbas Archipelago, a chain of 32 coral islands off the northern coast, is arguably one of the primary reasons to book cheap flights to Mozambique. Located in Cabo Delgado, the Quirimbas Archipelago has never been developed and the establishment of Quirimbas National Park in 2002 ensured the safe nesting of the sea turtles, dugong, dolphins, sharks and whales who call the reefs of the Quirimbas home.
  • Beach bums are booking flights to Mozambique to scope out the sandy stretches of the East African coast.  More than 60 percent of Mozambique’s population resides on the shores of the Indian Ocean, and the plethora of divers who flock to the coast from around the world each year prove that Mozambique is an ideal beach vacation destination.  Whether you’re scoping out the breathtaking sunsets in Beira or diving headfirst into the waters of Ponta do Ouro, you’re guaranteed to board your return Mozambique flight with a fierce tan and vivid vacation memories.
  • It doesn’t matter if your flight to Mozambique touches down in Beira or Maputo: Gorongosa National Park, one of Mozambique’s most popular attractions, is conveniently located near both major cities and is a wild oasis for those looking to get out of the city for a day or two. Gorongosa used to be a favorite for wealthy European gaming enthusiasts looking to acquire a few pelts for their collection, but laws were set in place to preserve the wildlife in the reserve and today the park is once again home to the wildlife that used to thrive there.
