More useful links for Hyannis
Roll the windows down as you turn onto the Route 3 dual-lane highway and breathe in the fresh New England air as you make your way to Hyannis. Located just 15 miles over the Sagamore Bridge, Hyannis is easy to get to and one of the more developed towns on Cape Cod. As the commercial and transportation hub of the Cape, Hyannis boasts more restaurants, shops, commercial shopping centers and homes than its surrounding villages in Barnstable County. Flights to Hyannis can be booked on charter flights from Boston or via private flights into Hyannis Airport, but most tourists booking Hyannis vacations choose to drive from Boston to Hyannis.
Hyannis is made up of two regions - downtown and the bay area. The downtown area is flanked with commercial shopping centers and green parks lined with bike paths. The bay area, which includes Hyannis pier and ferry terminal, is the central area for commuters looking to visit Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. While Hyannis is mostly modernized and doesn't quite exude the quintessential Cape Cod aura, it is one of the best places to stay when you're vacationing in Cape Cod because of it's proximity to other towns and villages along the Cape. Take time on your Hyannis vacation to explore other areas in the Cape including Chatham, Yarmouth and Provincetown. Hop a ferry from Hyannis and spend a day on Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.
