Looking to travel in June, but not sure where to go? We get it, choosing one destination can be a challenge. So let us do the work for you. We’ve done our research, crunched our data and broken down some of the cheapest destinations to visit in June.

All of our June destinations offer up median airfare less than $350 round-trip so you can have the summer vacation you need without breaking the bank. But don’t wait too long, the sweet spot for booking domestic travel is at least two weeks out to find the best deals.

Denver, Colorado

Median airfare: $159

Denver has a lot to offer summer travelers. Enjoy pleasant weather (think temperatures in the 70s) and plenty of seasonal events like the Denver BBQ Festival and Denver PrideFest. And with the money you save on flights, splurge on a meal at one of the city’s fantastic restaurants. For modern French cuisine, head to Morin, or if creative Southern cuisine is what you’re after, head to Julep.

Orlando, Florida

Median airfare: $197

June is a great time to visit Orlando if the cost is a factor. Temperatures are rising (think 80s and humid), but haven’t yet reached their summer highs, so off-season savings are worth it. If the area’s theme parks are on your to-do list, pack SPF and a few plastic ponchos for afternoon showers and enjoy the shorter wait times for popular rides.

Chicago, Illinois

Median airfare: $202

Looking for a city getaway this summer? Chicago flights should be high on your list. It’s peak season but with plenty of flight routes, prices are competitive (which means cheaper for you). Keep an eye on the city’s events calendar – there are tons of events and festivals happening in June, from arts to wine to alternative rock.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Median airfare: $204

People tend to shy away from Las Vegas in the summer months, but it’s actually a fantastic time to go. While temperatures can close in on 100, it’s a dry heat, meaning no pesky humidity. Not only will you score great flight prices and less crowds, but there are countless ways to spend your days and nights.

Dallas, Texas

Median airfare: $205

Did you know frozen margarita machines were first created in Dallas? Head to Mariano’s Hacienda for a taste of the original recipe. It will cool you down from the summer heat (Dallas in June can reach into the 90s). There’s also plenty to do inside when you want to duck out of the sun. Head to the (free!) Dallas Museum of Art for a little air conditioning and works by the likes of Monet, Picasso and Rodin.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Median airfare: $210

Ft. Lauderdale is a versatile city with plenty of opportunities for fun in the sun. With miles of beaches and a selection of cool museums, there’s something for everyone. Go a bit off the beaten path and tour the Florida Everglades by airboat. You’ll find different companies offering up different tours at different prices, so compare your options before you settle on one.

New York, New York

Median airfare: $252

There’s no bad time to visit New York, but summer in the city is an experience all its own. Wander The High Line, an elevated rail line turned public park in Chelsea, for gorgeous city views and food trucks, art and music on offer. To escape the heat, duck into the nearby Whitney Museum for contemporary art. Later, grab a bite at Chelsea Market, where you can stroll among food vendors before picking up locally crafted souvenirs at the Artists & Fleas market.

Seattle, Washington

Median airfare: $253

June weather is hard to predict in Seattle, which means you could have sunny days or you could get cool temps and some rain. Prepare for anything by packing a rain jacket and take advantage of the shoulder season savings that comes from visiting right before peak season starts in July. Lucky for you, there are things to do in both scenarios. If it’s sunny, spend some time wandering Pike Place Market or, if it rains, duck inside to explore the Museum of Pop Culture.

Los Angeles, California

Median airfare: $265

There’s no bad time to visit Los Angeles – with tons of cheap and free things to do and pleasant weather year round. Rent a car and drive the Pacific Coast Highway, stopping at one of the beaches along the way (we suggest El Matador State Beach for unmatched photo ops in front of rocky cliffs). Grab a bite to eat at Gladstone’s for beachfront seats and sunset views.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Median airfare: $327

June is the very beginning of the off-season in San Juan, which means you’ll benefit from lower prices and fewer crowds but it’s still in that shoulder season window (especially if you go in the first half of the month). Hit the beach, of course, and be sure to spend some time wandering Old San Juan with its cobblestone streets and colorful buildings.
