What are the two things we want from an airplane captain? Supreme skills and unwavering concentration – that’s what! Oh, and if the pilot has a calm, authoritative voice, that makes us happy too.

While we have the pleasure of hearing our captain’s soothing tones through seatbelt and other flight announcements, we never get to see him or her at work.

That’s why we love this video.

The camera remains fixed on this experienced pilot’s face as he guides his passenger jet into São Paulo’s Congonhas airport.

Not once in the last 30 seconds of the descent does he blink. Not once! In fact, we’d go as far as to say this guy’s facial expression is the dictionary definition of concentration.

It’s kind of funny and reassuring all at the same time.

We’d be happy to fly with him. Though, since keeping cool is part of his day job, not to mention something he excels at, we’d think twice about sitting down at the poker table with him.

We suspect he runs a tighter ship than the pilots in the Foo FightersLearn to Fly video too.
