The flight was delayed leaving ORD by 10 minutes which wasn't a problem. But the plane took a long time to push back from the gate and because of the weather, the plane had to be de-iced. That took 30 minutes or more which caused a problem for many passengers making connections in Atlanta. I appreciate the need for safety and that takes priority over all other considerations, but it would have been nice if flights in Atlanta could have been notified about the delay and those that had tight connections could have made their flights.

They are also developing sustainable aviation fuel and using sustainable products in their cabins.
You can fly more sustainably to Houston from Chicago by taking several measures. First, book a direct flight. Even though connecting flights are sometimes cheaper, direct flights are best because they save time and the environment. Direct flights produce emit about half the carbon produced by connecting flights, which is why they are preferred. Second, become a minimalist and travel light. Pack only the necessities and avoid overloading the plane. Overweight planes burn more fuel and further pollute the atmosphere. Third, don’t create avoidable waste. Avoid the single-use plastic bottles and disposable headsets offered on the plane, and instead, bring your own refillable bottle and headphones. Finally, book your flight with airlines offering carbon offsets so that you can compensate for the carbon you produce on your flight.
