The line at TSA took me 2.5-3 hours to get through and I was behind on my flight time by 20 minutes. I was told some flights would be delayed and they would wait but when I arrived the flight had already taken off. I showed up on time and even then 2 and a half hours was not enough time to make my flight. I had to rent a car and drive from Vegas to San Diego at 8:00pm. I just hoped the airport would have notified their passengers a lot better.

Your flight from Las Vegas will start at McCarran International Airport along the Vegas strip. You can book flights that go to either Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, or DFW as it’s known, or Dallas Love Field. There are many flights offered throughout the day for this route. There are far more one-stop flights available. DFW is the primary airport for the area and the metro region of Dallas. It’s located right between Dallas and Fort Worth. It’s a hub for American Airlines and the largest one for them. The airport is the fourth busiest in the world. Dallas Love Field is only six miles from downtown Dallas. It used to be the main airport but was replaced when DFW opened in the 1970s. Today, Southwest is the primary source of the traffic at this airport where the airline houses its corporate offices.
There are many flights going direct between these two cities. You can fly with Spirit Airlines into DFW. You can also find non-stop options with American Airlines into DFW. Southwest has direct flights from McCarran into Love Field a few times a day. Flight times are about 2h 45m.
You’ll find stopovers in Cincinnati, Houston, Phoenix, and Los Angeles from several carriers. Frontier Airlines will take you through Denver. Many of the stopovers are not much more than an hour, but you’ll find that some are more than six hours making for a longer travel day. You might also stop in Chicago or Atlanta, and even Seattle if you fly with Alaska Airlines. Southwest has stops in Austin, Burbank, Phoenix, San Antonio, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, Tulsa, and more on the way to Dallas Love Field. The stops range from about a half-hour to 1h 20m.
You will not need a passport or visa to travel between these two cities. You only need to show a valid form of identification when you show up for your flight.
LAS is one of the USA airports focusing on more green power sources and a sustainable environment. Utilizing a non-toxic, all-purpose cleaner and using paper items that require less packing, waste, and transportation are a few examples of "green" operations activities that LAS is implementing. Other examples include replacing turf with drought-resistant xeriscaping, installing water-bottle filling stations, and improving the lighting at parking garages and airports. The airport's environmental performance is continually being enhanced by our staff's creation and application of best practices. They also collaborate with other airport partners to disseminate the message.
Take the train from Las Vegas to Dallas if you want a trip that is ecologically friendly. However, the journey is a little slower and longer because you have to make connections at several Amtrak stations before reaching your destination. Since a train generates 80% less carbon per kilometer than an aircraft, it is more eco-sustainable. A train also generates little noise, which lessens noise pollution problems. The generated electricity is used on the majority of Amtrak trains between Las Vegas and Dallas, and some even run fully on electricity to reduce emissions.
At DFW Airport, there is Skylink, a free, perpetual automated rail service that connects the airport terminals and is available on the Airside. These trains run every 2 minutes; it takes passengers 9 minutes to go between the two farthest terminals. The landside bus service, Terminal Link, allows visitors to the airport and pre-security passengers to travel between terminals at no extra charge.
