Heathrow is a hot mess. Gates are not announced until 60 minutes before flight departure. This creates an unnecessary mad frenzy for the traveler having to run to their destination, the lifts and trams between terminals are clogged. I cannot believe this is a best practice. Cannot fathom how those with mobility issues successfully navigate the process. Presumably pilots and flight crew must arrive at the proper gate in advance for the necessary pre-flight safety checks? They would have this info? Why can this not be shared with the traveler who is supporting the industry and stave off the scurry-about nonsense? Once aboard---the flight itself and especially the crew were magic and more than made up for the avoidable pre-boarding nightmare.
