Monkey Mia Resort

Contrary to the resort’s name, the Monkey Mia offers visitors a chance to hand-feed and interact with local wild dolphins every day. The bottlenose dolphins visit the shore several times a day, and local rangers are on hand to make sure the dolphins are treated humanely. The Monkey Mia Resort is located near Denham, 534 miles north of Perth in the Shark Bay Heritage area. Also nearby is the Dolphin Information Center and Shell Beach, a great beach for swimming that has a four-mile stretch of tiny white shells stacked 33 feet deep. Some of Denham’s buildings are even built out of these shells.
