Perth Climate

Getting Downtown Perth

An Airport-City Shuttle meets domestic and international arrivals and services the city and many hotels. There is also a regular shuttle service to Fremantle and Scarborough, and bus 37 runs a service to the city center from the domestic terminals. Taxis are available outside both the Domestic and International terminals.

Getting Around Perth

There’s no need to worry about the hassle of first day commute. An Airport City Shuttle will take to the city straight from your long flight to Perth, and once you’re there, public transportation options are endless.

Buses are run by Transperth and make the city accessible for tourists. The Circle Route runs every 15 minutes during the weekdays, and every 30 minutes on nights and weekends. You’ll only have to pay for two zones at most, but make sure you get on the right one. The 98 runs clockwise around the city, and the 99 runs counter-clockwise. With 28 buses in total, and 100,000 passengers weekly, the Circle Route may be the easiest thing since booking your flight to Perth.

If for some reason you don’t catch the Circle Route, you certainly won’t miss the Central Area Transit (CAT). Brightly color-coded, these Mercedes buses will take you where you need to go. And just in case you actually don’t know where that is, a button at the bus stop will tell you.

The flight to Perth might have left you feeling a little claustrophobic but no worries; taxis and bicycles are plentiful and also available at various points around town.

Explore the beautiful gardens outside, then venture inside to experience the vast wine cellars, galleries, and fine dining. If you’d rather stay outside and admire the fauna, pack a picnic and relax on the lawn, where concerts and festivals take place from November to February.
