Located 100 miles (160 km) from the Baja peninsula, La Paz offers its share of beautiful beaches. Sea kayaking in La Paz is quite popular and with good reason. It has some of the best locations in the world. You can choose from a day trip to a tour over a few days. It’s a great way to view dolphins, whales and enjoy snorkelling during down times. You can also see sea lions at Los Islotes. The Malecon is a 3.4 mile (5.5 km) promenade along the waterfront and is a great place to see the sunset, run, walk or bike in the fresh air. Good restaurants are plentiful in the area and include a range of cuisines from taco stands to gourmet dining. Bismark Cito is a popular restaurant located on the Malecon.

Visitors can also make use of the train and metro or arrange a limo for special occasions. Once in La Paz, you can use the city bus service, rail and metro or use your rental car to see the sights. Bicycle hire is also available.
