The currency used in Aruba is the Aruban florin, designated by “Awg” or “Afl.” Major credit cards, traveler’s checks and US dollars are all widely accepted.

Restaurant, bars and room service bills usually have a 10 to 15 percent tip automatically added. If not, you should tip between 10 to 20 percent, depending on the quality of service. Tip taxis around 15 percent and porters $1 per bag.
Aruba doesn’t have much of a crime problem. Still, visitors are advised to use common sense and keep valuables hidden or locked in a hotel safe.
Aruba doesn’t have any vaccination requirements, but if you’re coming from a country infected with Yellow Fever, you’ll need an immunization certificate. Use insect repellent to avoid getting Dengue Fever from mosquito bites. Occasional outbreaks occur. Food and water are safe, but some of the tropical reef fish are poisonous to eat, even after they’ve been cooked. You are recommended to carry health insurance.
Aruba uses the North American voltage standard of 110 AC.
