National Geographic’s travel editors have just selected the 10 places around the world they think will most excite nature lovers and urban explorers this summer.

Their suggestions range from the more obvious, like the classic city break destination of Barcelona, to the slightly more far-out, such as the fossil hunting paradise that is Alberta’s Dinosaur Provincial Park.

We think they’ve made some pretty good choices. What’s your opinion? Are there any places you would put on the list instead? Tweet us or leave a comment below.

The complete list:

  1. Pawleys Island – South Carolina, USA
  2. Isla del Sol – Bolivia
  3. Argyll and the Isles – Scotland
  4. Baltimore – Maryland, USA
  5. Barcelona – Spain
  6. Dinosaur Provincial Park – Alberta, Canada
  7. St Petersburg – Russia
  8. Traverse City – Michigan, USA
  9. Spencer Glacier – Alaska, USA
  10. Channel Islands – California, USA
