The riverside city of San Antonio certainly offers a vacation experience the entire family will remember. From dolphin shows to rollercoasters to the historic Alamo battleground, here are five experiences the entire family will love in San Antonio.

The Alamo

This historic mission served as one of the most significant battlegrounds during the Texas Revolution, and today, it offers a family-friendly look at the state’s journey to independence. The kids will enjoy learning about David Crockett and other Texans who fought at this Spanish mission, and the entire family can soak up the gardens and pose for a photo in front of the picturesque Alamo.

San Antonio Zoo

Zoos are always a safe bet for family-friendly travel, and the San Antonio Zoo certainly doesn’t disappoint. The kids can take a look at the 3,500 animals that call the zoo home or feed lorikeets with a cup of nectar at Lory Landing. Don’t miss your chance to hop aboard the Zoo Train, which rides through neighboring Brackenridge Park.

SeaWorld San Antonio

The kids will come face to face with the wonders of the ocean at SeaWorld San Antonio, where aquatic creatures like dolphins and killer whales dazzle spectators with high-flying shows and performances. The kids can even get up close and personal with dolphins, belugas, sea lions and penguins, thanks to the park’s various interactive experiences.

San Antonio Children’s Museum

The San Antonio Children’s Museum is a parent’s dream: Hands-on exhibits help energetic kids burn off energy with activities that are too fun to let on they’re actually educational. The little ones can try their hand at driving a front-end loader, powering a pulley-operated elevator or role-playing at a replica grocery store. The littlest ones (up to 36 months) can also develop their senses and motor skills at the Tot Spot.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Is your family a thrill-seeking bunch? Then you won’t want to miss a visit to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, where roller coasters and other high-adrenaline rides are the name of the game. Your most daring kids can get their fix on the new Iron Rattler roller coaster, while your little ones will enjoy the tame rides at the Kidzopolis area.
