Want to spend considerably less time clearing security in Salt Lake City International (SLC), a major hub for Delta Air Lines? Clear has opened a new fast-pass security lane at the airport.

Enroll for the program in Terminal 2 at SLC, in the ticketing area adjacent to the escalators. Part of that enrollment process entails providing registering iris images and fingerprints. That biometric data is used in creating a Clear Card.

The Transportation Security Administration pre-screens Clear applicants. If the application is approved, travelers get a Clear Card that allows them access to Clear fast-pass security portals at a number of airports in the United States – 18 airports in all. They include Albany, NY (ALB); Cincinnati (CVG); Denver (DEN); Indianapolis (IND); Jacksonville (JAX); New York LaGuardia (LGA); Little Rock (LIT); New York Kennedy’s (JFK) Terminals 1, 4, and 7; Terminal 2B at Newark Liberty International (EWR); Oakland (OAK); Orlando (MCO); Reno (RNO); Salt Lake City (SLC); San Francisco (SFO); San Jose (SJC); Washington, DC Reagan National (DCA); Washington, DC Dulles (IAD); and Westchester (HPN).

The cost for all this is $100 per year plus another $28 for the TSA to vet your application. If you’re interested, you can start the enrollment process online at www.flyclear.com, and complete it at the enrollment location.
