Well, we’re not exactly sure how the folks in Arkansas have been getting around for the past year, or how people looking to visit Arkansas have been accomplishing that either – but we are happy and relieved to announce that airline service is now returning to four major cities in the area.
Oregon-based carrier Seaport Airlines has decided to operate flights from Memphis International Airport to Jonesboro, Harrison, El Dorado, and Hot Springs, Arkansas. Service will be run through an Essential Air Service contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Apparently, these four cities have had no passenger service since June of 2008. New service begins on Oct. 26, and will consist of three flights daily (except Saturdays) to each of the four cities from Memphis.
Introductory rates start at $49 each way to El Dorado, Hot Springs, and Harrison, and $29 each way to Jonesboro. A three-week advance purchase is required. Book online at seaportair.com.
