Cheap Car Rentals in Whitehall - Botanic Gardens, Dublin from $10

Showed the car I will get was VW or similar however was given dacia, worst car. Insurance was different as well- have to give 200 plus for five days and there was no option to cover the excess.

Good service good staff

Too few staff, for one. Only 4 cars on the lot for 6 customers. Waited 90 minutes to check in only to find it would be another 3 hours to wait for a car.

The hidden fees were a little surprising. Thought I booked a car for the price on Kayak, turns out I’d end up paying almost 3x that much when I went to pick it up

Car was good but insurance was outrageous. 30 for car and 48 for insurance! Then they billed my CC in $ instead of euro without asking so I lost another 3% to their bank. SUCKS

Generally good, friendly staff and efficient. Only real issue was that we couldn't use our CDW waiver with credit card coverage since: a) it required a very large authorization on the card (€5000, I think) which was rejected for security reasons, and b) there's a fee to do this! Never seen this issue before but I think it's avoidable via the aggregators. Car itself was good. Had more nicks and scratches at pickup than average but that's not a problem for us. Overall a good experience, just a bit pricy for a one day rental once all the added fees are taken into account.

Excellent customer service

This was the most horrible rental experience I have ever had. The service desk was terrible and the manager was terrible at Dublin airport. We paid over $1000 for a weekly rental and then they said we could not take the car unless we paid an extra $500 in insurance . It was total bait and switch job. They also cancelled my brothers reservation without even letting him know. We went to Sixt rentals and they took care of us and couldn’t have been nicer. I will never ever rent from Avis again. Low class and terrible service.

Convenient pick-up and drop-off at Dublin Airport. No problems with payment, and the people at the service counter were extremely helpful. I recommend the service.

Avoid at all costs. Had to wait in line for more than an hour for my rental. Once I was called to the desk, the clerk kept leaving to go talk to disgruntled customers who were still waiting for their keys. Once she came back with the keys for my rental, she suddenly decided to give them to another customer so they’d stop complaining. When she returned she turned to the clerk next to her and said that the customer was a word that I will not repeat on this review. Finally, after another 30 minutes of waiting at the desk, I was given a set of a keys to a manual transmission car even though I paid for an automatic. I went back in and said I was given the wrong car. The clerk then said I was wrong and that I paid for a manual. I pulled up the reservation and showed her I reserved an automatic. She finally conceded and provided me with keys to an automatic that she had to take from another waiting customer. I would have empathy if there was a network issue or car shortage, but one clerk mentioned that this is what it’s like everyday at Payless when I inquired. What Payless completely fails to understand is that people are in Dublin for vacation, or business. - many for the first time. And the last thing they want to do after a plane ride is wait in line for over an hour for a car they reserved. The complete lack of urgency, professionalism, attention to detail, and respect is the first impression many people now have of Dublin and it’s a complete shame because this is a wonderful city. I’ve rented hundreds of cars in my time and I’ve never experienced something this catastrophically inept.

Very easy, quick collect, when returned shuttle bus was there already to take us to Dublin Airport. The car was great easy to drive, clean, comfortable. Will definately hire again with this company.

Friendly staff were willing to help me out even though I didn't need it in the end I was a nice gesture. Car was nice too. Will definitely use them in future.

Fantastic experience, Peter at Dublin Airport desk was fantastic- super helpful, friendly and accomdated us to get on our way west as quickly as possible. Highly reccomend
