I rented a car from Sixt one-way from Venice to Milan, for 5 days total. Everything went well and I had no problems with pickup in Venice, dropoff in Milan, or with the vehicle. In addition, current prices were lower on the day of pickup than when I made the reservation, and they gave me the lower price. As a result, I would not hesitate to use Sixt again in Europe (or the U.S.).

Staff was great - a little pushy on buying insurance - but typical - so no problem at all. The problem was the key drop off. Despite an email received, I spent 45 minutes trying to find where to put keys - no box anywhere near cars or rental counters. Finally tried to hide them on rental desk

We booked a car to be returned to Piazzale Roma in Venice Italy. With printed confirmation from them. However, nobody informed us that there is actually NO SIXT office at all at that location!! It was a Saturday, nobody picked up the phone when we called multiple times trying to figure out where to go. We were given an exact address that did not exist! After 3 hours of going back and forth in the area in torching heat and with 2 young children, one police officer on the road suggested we return the car at the airport. We did. The airport is far from there. We had to take the cab back to Piazzale Roma. We tried to complain at the airport counter, but nobody cared" I am just working here, I am not in charge". I said, please give me a receipt that I actually returned the car. They did not want to; they said it will come in my e-mail in a few days !!??!! It did come in the mail a few days later, but really, I had no proof that that I actually returned the car ok and in time!

No wiper fluid. Fuel tank wasn’t full even though they said it was. Said they wouldn’t honor Allianz insurance purchased through Kayak. I asked about special requirements for driving into other counties and they denied knowledge of anything. Austria and Slovenia both use “vignette” which is a toll sticker that can only be bought at the border. The rental car said nothing existed beyond cash tolls. This ended up costing us a lot of money when we were stopped by Slovenian police a few feet from the Italian border.

Rental Car signage at Venice Marco Polo airport is very poor. Hard to tell where to go for pick up. Lots of unnecessary walking. Similarly, not clear exactly how to return cars (I've rented many dozens of times). Signage poor. No expiation at time of rental. Nonetheless, car clean functional, smooth operating.

They charged me the parking garage fee (29 Euro) when I returned it and Europcar was very difficult to get a hold of when I needed to make a change.

The car was filthy - seats stained, had half eaten food between seats, dirty plastic cups and used tissues int the car. It is clear the van had been used for commercial purposes, it was not fit to be used for a family vacation trip. I had to wait an hour for the car from when I arrived which made it clear it wasn’t ready and they tried to clean it a last minute, maybe even put the back chairs back in as the middle row wasn’t fitted well and the seats rocked a bit. Also the power outlet didn’t work so I couldn’t charge my phone for using as a GPS. It was very disappointing.

We had a brand new car; obviously it was in good condition so that was nice.

We waited over an hour after our scheduled reservation time to get the car. We had carefully planned our itinerary and the late departure (waiting for the vehicle to be taken for fuel) messed things up badly. We ended up in rush hour traffic, which delayed our arrival in Tuscany and cost us extra $$

Car was dirty at pick up Drop off was not assisted by anybody since they open at 8:00am and I had to check in before then: there were Hertz people at the booth, they did not take care of drop off. Insurance was super pricy: almost 400 euros full coverage. They did not recommend Allianz one I did

DRop off was unstaffes, nothing but a handwritten signon the door. had to call a number to get instructions on how to drop off. no dropoff lot or key drop off. was instructed to leave the keyys inside a mailbox between two buildings. Now iwas shcardefr $1556 extra ona pre paid rental that cost $200

Pickup took 3hrs in the fuckin airport because there werent enough people working on the desks. Just a nonsense wait in a hot area of the airport with nothing to eat or do.

The car mechanically worked great. Service was terrible and I was overcharged and still working to get that corrected.

I had to extend my rental and after dozens of attempted calls to the local office I was still unsuccessful. I had to drive the local office pay to park and then stand in line for over an hour in a very busy train station in Rome.

Totally unacceptable that a car rental in a city like Venice that receives millions of tourists yearly , closes their offices , for three hours at midday, on saturday afternoons and sundays. I arrived to Venice at 1230 and went to the office to pick up my car , the office was closed until 1430. Waited for the office to open , and i was told they were out of cars until 17 . My reservation was made theough Kayak with budget , so I cancelled my reservation with budget and made a new booking with Avis. When I
