Santa Fe Travel Information

  • What's your fetish? You'll see a lot of animal figures floating around Santa Fe stores. These little carvings are called a fetish and according to belief, the owner of that fetish will posses the same powers of the animal. For example, a person might carry a bear for strength or a eagle for awareness. Most stores will have a list of what the animals symbolize, so choose your fetish and wear it well.
  • Flying in Santa Fe takes on a whole new meaning. Forget about airplanes, hop in a balloon and head upward. The Balloon Fiesta is world-renowned in New Mexico and takes place annually in Albuquerque. You can book balloon rides in Santa Fe, but you'll likely need to travel to Albuquerque or Taos.
  • Jewelry is an art for the Native American Indians and it's never more prevalent than in Santa Fe. The most popular pieces are made of silver and/or turquoise.
