Imagine it’s November 1989 and the Mirage in Las Vegas opens. It’s the most expensive Las Vegas resort and casino to be built on the Strip, and Siegfried & Roy become a must-see attraction at the Mirage.

Fast forward 20 years.

The Mirage is still one of the most popular resorts in Las Vegas and is celebrating its anniversary with nightly rates starting at $81, a $50 buffet credit and four passes to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Grab a cheap flight to Las Vegas and you’ve got yourself a pretty inexpensive weekend at America’s luxury playground.

The $81/night rate is available in November and December, but we were able to find rooms for $85 and $95 in August, September and October. Hint: book weekday stays for the best possible price. Weekend prices tend to jump significantly (read: Rates between $190 and $243). The best way to find the nightly rate that fits your budget is to use the booking calendar, where you can compare prices in one place.

The offer expires in May 2010, so if you can’t find time to book a flight to Las Vegas for travel this year, there’s always next spring.
