Santa Claus is coming to the airport, thanks to a new initiative by Sun Country.
Sun Country launched a new initiative with non-profit organization Perspectives to provide “flights” to the North Pole for children. The inaugural annual event takes place Dec. 18 at the Humphrey Terminal of Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport (MSP).
The special flight will host 50 children from the charity program who will be treated to a festive meal and an imaginative trip to visit Santa.
Volunteers and Sun Country staff members will provide the children with descriptions of their journey – which includes reindeer sightings and the sound of sleigh bells. The aircraft will taxi on the runway for 30 minutes before the children return to the terminal to be greeted by Santa.
Stan Gadek, Chief Executive and Chairman at Sun Country, said: “This is the first year of what will become an annual event for Sun Country Airlines.
“We believe that a partnership with a worthwhile organization like Perspectives is an important part of taking an active role in this community.”
