Ready for the weekend? We thought so.  How about next weekend?

Cheapflights is reinstating its Friday afternoon segment of Next Weekend Away.

What it is: A flight and hotel deal to a great destination for next weekend.

How it works: We scour the industry for the best flights and hotel deals to a hot destination for next weekend, so you don’t have to do the work, but you still have enough time to book and prepare. Book this weekend, travel next weekend – got it?

This time, we’re highlighting Chicago, the land of dichotomous opposites. Here, you can have a weekend filled with beer-swilling sports bars and culinary treats like deep-dish pizza or street vendor sausages, or you can browse high-end art and dine at gourmet restaurants. Enjoy the lakefront in the summer, and brave the raging winters six months later. It’s all about balance here. Chicago also ranks as a hot destination because although it has a big city flair, it keeps its Midwest hospitality front and center.

Travel is based on departing Friday, April 30, and returning Monday, May 3.

We’ve picked the Allerton Hotel, located right on the Magnificent Mile overlooking Lake Michigan. If you book through hotels.com’s 72-hour sale, you’ll save 20 percent, and stay for approximately $150 per night. The Allerton was built in 1924 in Italian Renaissance Revival style, and was renovated in 2008. Staying here brings you close to Millenium Park, the Navy Pier, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Rooms come with hypoallergenic bedding, iPod docking stations, marble bathrooms with L’Occitane toiletries, and a complimentary 24-hour fitness room.

A quick check for flights around the country to Chicago brought cheap results. Here are a few examples:
Denver flights to Chicago, from $307
Atlanta flights to Chicago, from $292
New York flights to Chicago, from $279
Philadelphia flights to Chicago, from $168

Have a great weekend, Cheapflighters.
