Good news for Columbus flyers in search of a break. Port Columbus International (CMH) was hard hit when discount airline Skybus folded earlier this year. CMH was the carrier’s home base. Now comes word that discount airline AirTran intends to launch service on November 6 from Columbus to a trio of destinations. Look for nonstops to Atlanta (ATL), Fort Myers (RSW), and Orlando (MCO).

Delta already serves Columbus to Atlanta nonstop, and discount airline Southwest makes the CMH-Orlando run nonstop. Right now, there is no nontop service from Columbus to Fort Myers. That will change come early November.

AirTran will operate out of Concourse C at Port Columbus International.
