This week, AirTran announced new service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport.
The low-cost airline based in North Texas, will begin daily service to the Wisconsin airport starting April 6, 2010. The non-stop, twice daily stops from DFW’s Terminal E currently brings AirTran’s total flights from that airport to nine daily flights from. Other cities it serves from the base are Atlanta, Baltimore, and Orlando, using Boeing 717 and 737 air-crafts.
AirTran has operated at DFW since April, 1998, and has more than 600,000 passengers a year.
Dallas Fort Worth International is located halfway between its two namesake cities, and is the world’s third busiest airport, operating 1,750 flights a day, and 57 million passengers a year.
