Spending your Saturday walking around a museum is a great way to learn something new and immerse yourself in culture, but it’s even better when the museum lets you in for free.

This Saturday, make sure to check out museums near you, or make a weekend trip to a museum you’d like to see, because more than 1,200 museums all over the country aren’t charging admission for the day.

As a part of Smithsonian’s Museum Day, top-notch galleries and exhibits will be available for all to experience. According to USA Today, the motivation for Smithsonian (whose 17 museums in Washington DC are already free) to initiate the day is so that people under economic strain can experience an interesting new piece of culture without having to pay for it.

Some participating museums include Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, Clevelands Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute, and New York’s Street Seaport Museum.

To gain access, print your free Museum Day card at smithsonian.com.

Now all you need is a cheap flight to your favorite city to explore its museums this weekend.
