Grab a cheap flight to France this Spring and save money while you’re there- that’s the premise behind
French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s new promise to keep France a cultural hot-spot for world-wide travelers.

Sarkozy announced plans to make museums free for visitors under 25, and add an additional 100 million euros ($161 million) annually for the operation of national museums and heritage sites. According to reports, that money is in addition to the 2.9 billion euros ($4.7 billion) Sarkozy spent on “French culture”.

The money will go toward restoration of cathedrals, abbies and museums.

This will come as a significant savings to youth, who can spend anywhere from $5-$20 on France’s top museums and attractions. The plan to make national museums free to young visitors will begin April 4.
