Seattle, Washington

Dungeness crab is a staple of Seattle’s seafood scene, whether you decide to chow down on the fresh crustaceans with a dish of melted butter or a delectable crab cake. Seattle-ites don’t believe in messing with a good thing, so you’ll find most of the Emerald City’s seafood restaurants serve up finely boiled crabs with simple yet expertly prepared seasonings.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Shellfish in Louisiana is only properly served one way: spread out on a table with corn on the cob, sausage and potatoes (with only a mallet and bib to get you through this southern dining tradition). Cajun-style blue crab can be had throughout the state, but head to the Big Easy for some of the best seafood in Louisiana.
