Travelers on Los Angeles flights from Los Angeles International Airport should prepare themselves for more security initiatives.

Following a media conference yesterday by President Barak Obama, which he declared the U.S. intelligence agency had ‘failed’ in the wake of the attempted Christmas Day bombing, Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced that he was instructing more security make its way through LAX.

LAX and passengers can expect to see more security officers, policemen and bomb-sniffing dogs, in addition to more full-body scanners at security checkpoints. Currently, LAX has two full-body scanning machines, both of which are located in Terminal 5.
