Clarification on an earlier posting regarding new Delta SkyMiles Card benefits from American Express.
Consumer and small business cardmembers can now earn better benefits including more bonus miles when they use the card. Consider, American Express cardmembers can now:
– Earn 1,000 bonus miles for attaining the $5,000 mark in eligible purchases, using the Delta SkyMiles Options Credit Card;
– Earn 2,500 bonus miles for racking up $10,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, or the Delta Sky Miles Business Credit card;
– Earn 5,000 bonus miles for making $15,000 in eligible purchases plus an additional 5,000 bonus miles for reaching a total of $25,000 in eligible purchases using the Delta SkyMiles Gold Credit Card or the Delta SkyMiles Business Gold Credit card;
– Earn an additional 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles, otherwise known as MQMs, for reaching the $50,000 mark in eligible purchases using the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Credit Card, or the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business Credit Card.
Medallion status is what most frequent fliers aim for. Reach it and you get unlimited free domestic upgrades, priority boarding, preferred seating, discounted membership in Delta’s Crown Room Club lounges and other benefits.
The new benefits package gives Delta SkyMiles Gold cardmembers, as well as Delta SkyMiles Business Gold cardmembers another bonus upon renewal: a $99 domestic companion certificate.
If you carry a Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card, or a Delta SkyMiles Business Platinum Card, things get even better. Without being subject to blackout dates or minimum fare requirements, upon renewal, you’ll receive a complimentary domestic companion certificate.
