In a time when airline food is all but vanishing, airports are compensating by adding more eateries for fliers on the go. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is among the more aggressive airports in the country in this regard, laying on lots of different options.
Among the latest are Wendy’s Old-Fashioned Hamburgers and Potbelly Sandwich Works. Both are located out on Concourse C.
Potbelly bakes its rolls fresh, then loads them with lunchmeat and toppings. The place also serves up breakfast: made-to-order sandwiches, such as bacon, egg and American cheese.
Wendy’s, as you probably already know, serves made-to-order burgers, and deli-fresh Frescata™ sandwiches.
Both Wendy’s and Potbelly are located in the AIRMALL® at BWI.
Baltimore/Washington is a classic example of an airport where grab ‘n’ go meals make a lot of sense. The airport’s prime player is discount airline Southwest, and while the carrier is lauded regularly for its service, it doesn’t serve in-flight meals, just snacks.
