Zero-G, the first company to offer commercial weightless flights with approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, has launched in Las Vegas.
Operating 90-minute flights from Signature Air Terminal at McCarran International, the unique carrier gives members of the public the rare opportunity to experience zero gravity without flying into space.
To inaugurate its new service, Zero-G welcomed Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin and casino executives from Las Vegas aboard G-Force 1 as it performed parabolic maneuvers in the Nevada sky to simulate the feeling of weightlessness.
Zero-G now operates regular journeys from the entertainment capital, as well as the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
For $3,500 per person, passengers will receive training and a special flight suit, before embarking on a “life-changing” ride lasting for approximately 90 minutes, featuring 15 parabolas. Merchandise, awards, photographs, a DVD recording, as well as a post-flight party are also thrown in.
“With the launch of regular service in Las Vegas, the public will know exactly when and where they can enjoy the phenomenal experience we deliver,” said Peter Diamandis, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Zero-G.
“Visitors flock to Las Vegas for once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and Zero-G will deliver on that expectation and then some.
“During zero gravity, our passengers can fly through the length of the cabin, watch water hover before their eyes, or release a handful of M&Ms and play a game of human PacMan as they chase them down.”
Zero-G was founded in 1993 and its technical operations are run by a team of veteran astronauts.
